Lone Tree Art Expo

General Information:
The 17th Annual Lone Tree Art Expo is presented by the City of Lone Tree and the Lone Tree Arts Commission. This juried exhibition runs September 19th – November 26th, 2018 at the Lone Tree Arts Center, 10075 Commons Street, Lone Tree, Colorado, 80124.  Interested in applying?  Click the link in the Important Dates section below.  

Viewing Hours
10:00 am - 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday and two hours before productions at the Lone Tree Arts Center.

All artwork is available for purchase through the Lone Tree Arts Center Box Office.

Lone Tree Art Expo Opening Cocktail Reception
Wednesday, September 26th, 2018 from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
At Lone Tree Arts Center, 10075 Commons Street.
Music, cash bar, appetizers and fun.

Painting, Drawing, Watercolor, Sculpture and Mixed Media. 

2018 Juror
Doug Kacena
Doug Kacena received his undergraduate education in Fine Art (Painting) and Art History (Modern & Contemporary American Art) from the University of Colorado in Boulder. Kacena began showing in galleries during his collegiate studies in Boulder. After college, he continued showing regionally and nationally and later becoming the co-founder and director of Gallery 13 (Denver) in 1999. Doug believes strongly in supporting art in the community and has taught art and art therapy to developmentally disabled adults through the state of Colorado. He also volunteered as a Steering Committee member, judge and coordinator for the People's Fair and CHUN Mural project from 2000-2017. In 2000, he founded Denver Artists Services Association (DASA) a not-for-profit organization providing guidance for artists. Doug is very active in the Colorado arts community. He is the co-owner of Artuvus Studios, partners with 1261 Gallery and Abend Gallery in Triptych Denver, and is co-owner and director of K Contemporary Gallery in Denver. He is the former gallery director of Evergreen Fine Art Gallery and Sculpture Garden in Evergreen, Colorado, and is represented by the Mike Wright Gallery in Denver, Colorado.

Prizes
Selections for the exhibition are made via callforentry.org (CaFÉ™) from JPEG images. Awards are made by the juror in person and include the final presentation of the artwork. There are cash awards for each winner. 

Awards include:
Best of Show and Commissioner’s Choice award, Painting First Place and Second Place, Drawing First Place and Second Place, Watercolor First Place and Second Place, Mixed Media First Place and Second Place, and Sculpture First Place and Second Place.  Best of Show winner as well as First Place in each category will be awarded gallery space at the Lone Tree Arts Center following the Art Expo.

Sales 
Sales are conducted by the Lone Tree Arts Center. A 20% sales commission will be applied to all sales.

Notification - September 4th 
Exhibition - September 19th - November 27th, 2018
