Patrol Unit

Ensuring a Visible Police Presence

The Patrol Unit provides around-the-clock, community-wide presence as guardians to citizens with a visible police profile. The visibility is intended to increase effectiveness in the areas of crime prevention and quick response to emergency calls. 

Duties
The duties of the Patrol Division include:

  • Deterring and investigating criminal activities by patrols from sworn and volunteer staff

  • Providing traffic enforcement, through education and specialized saturation

  • Accident investigation, with up-to-date modern technology in capturing vital data from the event

  • Providing excellent community service to both residents and commercial businesses with our superior volunteer staff and business watch programs

  • Participation in the Douglas County School Marshal program by providing officers in all our local schools for at least two hours per day to provide protection and education to our youth

  • Substation at the Park Meadows Shopping Resort with a visible presence in and around the mall for crime prevention and quick response to emergency calls from the area.
