Public Works

Development Review

General Information

New development includes new public roads (and sometimes private roads), and all drainage improvements required to reduce the possibility of damage to downstream properties.

This means an extensive technical review of Construction Plans for the roads, Drainage Reports for the storm sewer system, Pavement Design Reports for the design of the pavement type and thickness, and Grading Plans which show proposed dirt-work and erosion control for preventing sediment from leaving the site. Engineering also reviews Traffic Reports which analyze the impact of proposed development on existing public streets.
